To state facts, there is no mechanism to regulate content published on the Internet. And there is no way to measure the fairness of what is being published online. While Internet has brought about transformation in the human civilization, these facts remain one of its biggest downsides. Many businesses and individuals have become victims of malicious campaigns that have been run to dent their online reputation. In a world what appears on the Internet is often taken on face value such campaigns have had disastrous consequences on brands as well as individuals. This matter is further complicated by sites such as Ripoff Report, Complaints Board, Consumer Complaints and Yelp which thrive on negative comments and complaints. These platforms do little to verify the authenticity of the complaints of the credentials of the person posting them.
